GLEN ELLYN

Glen Ellyn is a quieter suburb, thanks to an abundance of mature trees in most neighborhoods. It is served by the Glenbard School District. The Union Pacific West line runs through downtown Glen Ellyn, making the area attractive for commuting to Chicago. College of DuPage, the largest community college in the country, calls Glen Ellyn home. Downtown features many restaurants and shops and is undergoing significant infrastructure upgrades. Lake Ellyn Park is a 29-acre public park centered around Lake Ellyn; an artificial lake created for the Hotel Glen Ellyn in 1889. The hotel burned down in 1906.
